Facebook's rainbow-coloured filter over profile pictures to celebrate the legalisation of gay marriage in the US

I am loving all the rainbow profile photos. In fact, I have been hitting the like button for each one, and I can understand why my non US citizens and straight mates are also choosing to show their support on facebook. This world wide on-line celebration marks people’s understanding of the consequences of gay folks being denied their freedom, forced to hide their identity and marry a straight person. No one has the right to label inferior or judge the creation of nature. These people are not only capable of better raising children who are left at the orphanage, if not dumped in the garbage, but they have the power to defeat this hypocritical society with love, change their ruthless ideology about human life, and tell the world that they are not a result of god’s or our mistake, that their existence matters – and they have just done that!!

While the rest of the world is fighting over land or too consumed with their material needs, we do actually have people who live for love! So what is the problem? Marriage is not always about making kids, it’s a union of two souls who want to grow old together and live their life peacefully without being ripped off the personal respect they deserve. Regardless of what opinion we all have, at the end of the day everybody needs a companion. So let’s not be judgemental because the shift is on!
